Compliance Officer and Mortgage Adviser

What I do: I support my colleagues to assist them with all aspects of compliance and their day-to-day requirements within the office along with helping clients obtain suitable mortgage advice based on their individual requirements.

Brief Background: Born and brought up on a farm just outside Gatehouse of Fleet, before moving to Castle Douglas in 1999. I started my working life as a shepherd before moving to financial services in 1996. I have worked with Border Finance in some shape or form for nearly 20 years. Married to Jayne and have a daughter Emily and a step son Ben.

Favourite part of my Job: Well it’s not the compliance! I enjoy meeting new clients and helping them buy their first home as well as looking after clients I have dealt with for many years.

Outside Work: I enjoy the great outdoors especially with Emily and our Airedale, Daisy. I enjoy holidays with the family, eating out, movies, malt whisky tasting, watching football and do a bit of baking with my daughter.
